A Quote Worth Thinking About

John F. Kennedy

Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.

A Solution for Fixing the Government

Yes, I've got the solution for fixing our staunchly bipartisan, compromise disabled government. It's genius, I say. Genius! This country has become too large to pass legislation that might result in failure. Therefore we need to 'test market' the ideas. Let the constituents who voted in the Tea Party legislators become the model states to 'try out' what the Tea Party wants. Eliminate government funding from their lives: grants, medicare, medicaid, disaster funds, etc.  and do a longitudinal study of the results. If it works, then expand the model to additional states. It's simple, it's fair and I think we will certainly get results! :)

Hey, at least I'm thinking 'out of the box.' LOL

A Wedding full of Love

Oftentimes people approach a bride during the wedding and remark about her inner glow. The glow signifies the happiness that we interpret as true love. This past weekend  another kind of wedding took place , a wedding between two men. Both men glowed and both men were brimming over with what could only be interpreted as true love.
This gay wedding was attended by many friends, but also by relatives who had commented in advance that they might feel uncomfortable because of their conservative beliefs about the definition of marriage. But by the end of the ceremony these same people were heard to say that their beliefs and feelings had changed dramatically. They had come full circle just by observing the love between two men, as well as by the friends and family who love and support these men. It was an extraordinary event. Most everyone was stating that it was the best wedding that they had ever attended.
It seems to me that those who question gay marriages have never been to this kind of celebration of love. It seems to me that everyone should have this opportunity. It is an amazing experience.
After all, love is love is love......no matter what size, shape or sex the person might be.

Intuition, Where Does it Come from?

There are times when I see an airplane land and my thoughts go to Jackie Kennedy Onassis' fears for her son, John Kennedy Jr. -  I wonder how she just knew that he shouldn't fly. Mother's intuition or something more? What causes our greatest fears? Can these fears be attributed to rational thinking or something more? Have you ever had an overwhelming feeling of panic that you shouldn't do something and it turned out you were right? Are only certain people predisposed to these 'Twilight Zone' moments? Coincidence or not?

From Intuition-Research.net:

The word ‘intuition’ comes from the Latin in-tueri. This is often roughly translated as meaning ‘to look inside’ or ‘to contemplate’. Intuition is an involuntary and ubiquitous phenomenon this is pervasive across national cultures (many different languages have a word for it) and throughout history (the poets and scholars of Classical Greece and Rome wrote about intuition).  In everyday English we frequently use terms like ‘hunch’ or ‘gut-feeling’.

Jacqueline Kennedy's intuition for her son: spiritual, an irrational fear,  an overprotective mom, or something else?

 What do you think?

Monday, July 4, 2011

I couldn't think of anything to write about today, so I asked for suggestions for topics on Facebook. A friend told me to write about flatulence because it's always funny to read about flatulence. Perhaps it's funny to read about large dogs who let it rip. Not too funny, though, because large dogs have really bad gas. It's so bad that the brain tells the lungs to refuse to expand to take the smell in. Some owners of big dogs tell of stinkies so bad that they could peel off the wallpaper in the room. I guess that's pretty funny, as long as I'm not in that room.
And is flatulence funny for senior citizens? Let me tell you that as people grow older, that muscle in the tush that holds it all in definitely gets weaker. The most gentle of gentlemen can be heard any time of day or night with evidence that this is true. Ladies are mortified when this happens. Does one say, 'I'm sorry' or 'Excuse me.' Consider all the senior citizens now online on the dating sites. The senior male gets all spruced up for his big date, puts on his cologne in anticipation of a possible score with  a woman he never would have been able to date in his younger years. But now he is a stud because of the shortage of men at that age. The lady meets her 'stud' and tries to overlook the belly, the thinning hair and the cologne from the 60's....and then the muscle that has become weak lets loose......
Flatulence oh flatulence,
Only a muscle holds you in
Flatulence oh flatulence,
I'm alive
I'm a stud
And I still can't win!

Blog Arguments

To be or not to be contentious...that is my question. As I get older, I find that I feel wiser. As a result, I am more and more opinionated, and I am absolutely sure I know what is right. The only problem is that I am willing to state my mind and get involved in giving my opinion anywhere I see the opportunity. Computers, that is the blogs on computers, have opened a whole new pasture in which to feed my madness. The more I respond to other people's opinions on other blogs, the stronger I feel. Getting the drift of where this is going?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if psychologists and other therapists discover that  people's personalities are changing more rapidly because of the reinforcement of negative behaviors that are being revealed to the world on some of these blogs. Ask me for my opinion. I will gladly tell you what it is and argue my point! :) It is addictive  to become involved in these arguments. Try it! Unfortunately you'll like it! It's all about power that's very intoxicating!
